This work is expanded into selected elements of the evidence-based practice process including development of the PICOT question and identification of evidence related to topic. (PO 1, 2, 6, 9) Due Date:Sunday 11:59 PM MT at the end of Week Two Total Points Possible: 130 points Requirements Description of the Assignment This assignment builds on the identification of a nursing issue from NR 500 and the application of a nursing theory to the selected issue from NR 501. For this course, the selected issue and nursing theory serve as the foundation to the identification of PICOT/PICo. Literature search strategy is also required. Criteria for Content 1. Overview of Selected Evidenced-based Practice Project: This section provides an opening to your MSN EBP scholarly project. It should contain the following elements: · Explain how evidence-based practice promotes change with evidence · Explain the role of research within evidence-based practice · Identify the selected nursing issue · Provide rationale for selecting the specific issue 2. Application to selected MSN Program Specialty Track: This section provides a comprehensive discussion of how the selected nursing issue impacts the student’s MSN specialty track. · Identify MSN Program specialty track · Describe the impact of resolving the selected nursing issue upon advancing practice within your specialty track 3. Nursing issue and supportive evidence regarding the issue: This section provides a thorough discussion of the selected nursing issue. It also cites relevant supportive scholarly evidence regarding the selected issue. Included in this section will be: · Explain the selected nursing issue in detail · Identify how frequently the selected issue occur within selected practice setting · Identify the stakeholders impacted by the issue · Identify expected outcomesfor the stakeholders by implementing this evidenced-based practice project 4. Evidence-based practice question: · If using a quantitative approach, the PICOT format is used and all elements are noted · If using a qualitative approach, the PICo format is used and all elements are noted 5. Conclusion: · Provides a summary of key elements from paper · Provides a self-reflection by the student regarding what was learned from writing this assignment. Preparing the Assignment Criteria for Format and Special Instructions 1. The paper (excluding the title page and reference page) should be at least 5, but no more than 8pages. Points will be lost for not meeting these length requirements. 2. Title page, running head, body of paper, and reference page must follow APA guidelines as found in the 6th edition of the manual. This includes the use of headings for each section of the paper except for the introduction where no heading is used. 3. A minimum of 6 (six) appropriate research-based scholarly references must be used. Required textbook for this course, dictionary and Chamberlain College of Nursing lesson information may NOT be used as scholarly references for this assignment.
