Code of Conduct

This question is for XXXXX XXXXX:
Hi Angela,

I still need help with the same assignment. Please help me. This is the part the instructor said need to be corrected.
“The Student Code of Conduct of University of Phoenix supports the University’s mission is to provide a higher education for students by giving them an advantage that makes it possible for us to build up our understanding and the ability to do well with the experience we have gained through our training with the experience necessary to achieve the standards of skills, competence, which is on the whole something to be expected of students. We are to always conduct ourselves decently with truthfulness and with honor as dependable members of the University’s academic community. This requires the demonstration of mutual respect and civility in academic and profession disclosure.
(Note from instructor: I was informed that this information is in quotes, however I have not provided the citation for this information. For quotes over 40 words, I need to use the block quote formatting. Please review the APA resources for more on this requirement, however it appears this information is from the following website. http://www.ripoffreport.com reports 0289 Ripoff0289360htm. Which is not a peer-reviewed reference. It was recommended that I use the University’s Online Library to retrieve references. The information in bold comes from the underlined website.)

Also the same is said for the following two paragraphs also. A University is a marketplace of ideas and, in the search for truth; it is essential that freedom exist for contrary ideas to be expressed. Accordingly, students are expected to respect the rights and privileges of others and to foster an environment conducive to learning. Students are accountable for their actions and are required to work independently, as well as collaboratively with teams, in achieving learning goals and objectives.
By virtue of membership in the University’s academic community, students accept an obligation to abide by the Student Code of Conduct. Conduct, either on or off-campus, that is determined to impair, interfere, or obstruct the opportunities of others to learn or that disrupts the mission, processes, or orderly functions of the University will be deemed misconduct and shall be subjected to appropriate disciplinary action.”
“Presenting as one’s own work the work of another person-words, ideas, data, evidence, thoughts, information, organizing principles, or style of presentation without proper attribution. Plagiarism includes Para-phrasing or summarizing without knowledgement by quotation marks, footnotes, or other indices of references” Joseph F. Trimmer Paperback, (March 311998) A Guide to Mla Documentation: With an Appendix on APA Style: (Note from instructor: This paragraph appears to be from this web site http://it.stlawu.edu/-Koon/classes/FYS/To BoldlyGo2004.html This is not a peer-reviewed reference this information is from a course syllabus. Please use the online Library to obtain my references. The in text citation is not correct please review the APA resources that is provided.)

“Academic honesty lies in the paths of all students’ success. To uphold academic honesty one must ensure all academic papers are original and written by the student, only. All academic papers must also, not be plagiarized. Plagiarizing is stealing other’s works and claiming it as your own. Plagiarizing is dishonest, unethical, and illegal. Plagiarizing also has numerous dreadful consequences. Thus, it important that all college students master citing and referencing works of others properly and correctly”. (Note from instructor: This paragraph is in quotes, however, I did not list where the quotes is from. My paper needs to include in text citations.)

If you could put these paragraphs in the proper form I would appreciate it very much I have been placed on probation because of this paper I just do not understand what I am suppose to do when I quote and put the paragraph in quotes they are not suppose to be there. When I try to do in text citation that is not correct either I am very confused with a mixed mind and a big headache. If you would put this in order for me I would appreciate it and will pay a bonus for your help. Thanking you in advance.

Angela, how can I give you my codes to get into the Uop library without it being seen by everyone. I am required to use references. On 8/8/08 you helped me with part of the same assignment I asked you to lock it for me. If you can unlock and I do give my permission for you or whomever to unlock it for me and I think it would give you a better idea also. The entire paper is in that locked session.

Thank you, XXXXX XXXXX really appreciate you soooo much.

Angela, here is the last correspondence I received from the instructor.

Title:ACADEMIC DISHONESTY: A Zero Tolerance Professor and Student Registration Choices.
Author:Levy, Elliott S.
Author:Rakovski, Carter C.
Description:By: Levy, Elliott S.; Rakovski, Carter C.. Research in Higher Education, Sep2006, Vol. 47 Issue 6, p735-754, 20p, 5 charts, 1 graph Abstract: College and university faculty and administrators are responsible for constructing academic honesty policies and communicating them to students. This is often attempted through institutional honesty policies and university-wide honor codes. While these approaches have been widely researched, less attention has been given to the role of individual faculty members. That role is examined in this study by addressing student reactions to professors based on their academic honesty policies. In addition to demographic information, data were gathered about student attitudes and beliefs concerning academic dishonesty and their decision to enroll in or avoid a course being taught by a professor with zero tolerance for academic dishonesty. The findings regarding different instructors?? approaches toward academic dishonesty indicate that an intolerant policy will keep dishonest students away, but at a priceâ??it will also detract many honest students.
